About Jenny

Jenny'’s tales of rural life in her Turkish village are full of humour and packed with unusual and surprising stories of a culture so different from her own. Embarking on her new life of adventure at the age of fifty, meeting the man of her dreams, Jenny'’s talks trace her arrival in her village in 1994 through to the present day.

Setting up home in the village and buying an ancient farmhouse in desperate need of restoration, Jenny quickly became an integral part of this close-knit community, where time seemed to have stood still, but which is now on the cusp of change. She arrived just in time to experience this age-old culture before the inevitable change occurred.

Jenny still lives in her beloved village and farmhouse, but she spends a few months each year in England, sharing her enthusiasm and passion for her adopted home in Turkey with such diverse groups as The Chelsea Physic Garden Art Society, The U3A, Probus, Tangent, Inner Wheel, Over 60’'s, The W.I., Heartcare and many many more.

More than 1,100 groups have welcomed Jenny into their midst to date to give her talks and often she is invited back to the same club time and time again, always to a tumultuous welcome and applause.

Jenny has also appeared on radio, telling her Turkish village tales to an audience as far away as Australia!
